MRC Eletrônica Ltda was founded in 1980 under the name EMRC Elétrica Eletrônica Ltda., which was changed to its current name in 1989. Prior to 1989, each founder worked separately as employers for the Port Authorities of the Brazilian Navy, Brazil's largest shipyards and also for foreigners and Brazilian shipowners, always in the electronics area.
